Secrets to Your Goals

Hey guys,

As we all know it’s come to that time when everyone returns back to school or work. I’m unsure whether I feel anxious, excited or sad about it. I guess it’s a mixture of all those emotions. My favourite part however is buying the exciting new stationery for a fresh start. Anyone’s resolution to be more organised this year? Here are some key essentials for beginning school, achieving your goals and keeping on track of your schedule.

Stationery:

A great quality set of stationery should certainly be on everyone’s must have list. The main items you’ll need to help with your work and organising your things are highlighters, pens, pencils, ruler, scissors, textas, paperclips, sticky notes etc. Can I just take a second to say how delicious this pizza pen looks down below. Pencil Case:

This is an obvious one but a pencil case is crucial to keeps all of your belongings together. They come in cute designs and sizes for your liking and personal needs. (Click for info)

Schedule/ planner:

These items will help you to prioritise and see what plans you have ahead so you can keep track of all the things you need to get done. You can see all the goals and tasks to strive for and which ones you’ve completed. It makes things extremely easier for you and will help reduce stress as you’ll feel way more organised.  (Click for Info)

Diary/Journal:

Diaries and journals are a great way to reflect on what you’ve done, achieved and what you’d still like to improve on in the future. You can express all of your thoughts and feelings in them and what you may have learnt along the way. Common journal types kept are for your goals, gratitude or dreams. You can also purchase diaries with dates on them so you can treat it like a schedule or calendar. Who doesn’t want a 3 in 1? What I love about the dream journal below is that it has mini quotes to keep you inspired and motivated.

Bags:

There are so many amazing bags out there whether you need it for school, carrying your laptop or your belongings between places. Here are some really cute bag designs out now. Make sure you find the right size suitable for you since you don’t want to have bulging items in your bag which will only make your life much more harder.

Drink Bottles:

While rushing around working it’s important to stay hydrated. What I love about the water infusers is that you can mix things up and add in fruit to create your own detox waters. (Click for info)

Desk Decorations:

Having an amazing desk space is key to zoning into a great mind frame to complete your work to the best of your abilities. It can vary from a scented candle, quotes to keep you inspired or even a cute little pot plant.

I hope you enjoyed this. Let me know any goals you would love to achieve this year! 🙂

Beautiful Scars

Hey guys,

Do you want to know what a scar truly is? A scar is a dried up wound that has survived the pain. It’s a reminder, as it never fully goes away, that you were strong enough to make it through! Scars don’t have to be just physical they can also be there emotionally.

Here’s a story of mine that shows when you think you’re alone and never going to make it through, that you will come out brighter and better than ever!

This had to be one of my worst years and what happened still pains me to this day. I was moving up to middle school while my friends who were a year below me were still in junior school. The principal enforced a rule that middle school students couldn’t stay in the same area as the junior. My friends and I tried catching up as much as possible but we all ended up drifting away.

I tried speaking to the people in my year level but they were all in their cliques and would give me the cold shoulder. The only time anyone would really talk to me would be to use me for my work and answers. I tried hanging out with different groups of people but it would always end the same way, with me getting excluded. It really hurt.

I finally found a group of friends I thought were nice until they thought it would be a funny idea to keep ditching me. During class time it wasn’t exactly easy either. Girls in my class behind my back would tease me and call me names like bitch, loser, weird, sook and I even twice had them trying to steal things from me, but I got my property back thankfully. I never understood why or what I’d done to them especially for people to treat someone this cruelly. I found out  a story my mum kept from me then since I was younger and she didn’t want to worry me that some girls had tried creating a fake dating profile for me making out as though I was a slut saying I was desperate for a boyfriend and tried giving people my address details. Luckily it was taken down. Before this I tried hanging with them once but they told me to sit down while they tried walking off to gossip.

It got so bad I started faking that I was sick and that I had injuries so I wouldn’t have to go to school and face this torture. I eventually told my mum and just cried to her. I remember wishing everyday that it would rain just so everyone could stay in doors and I wouldn’t have to feel so alone for once. Eventually I stopped trying and brought magazines which I’d read at lunch sitting on my own. People sent me greasy looks and teachers said things shouldn’t be like this for me but I didn’t care I was over getting hurt constantly.

One day I was absolutely over pretending I was okay with things being this way. I reconnected my old friend group together and they even introduced me to new friends. We had a school choir which I wasn’t going to join until these friends pushed me to. Without this happening I never would have discovered my strong passion for music, I never would have received all of these singing solos for events, I never would have been asked to join my school’s band and I never would have got a singing solo in my school’s production. Those years after going through hell were probably the best of my life. It was like a beam of sunshine shining through a rainstorm creating a rainbow.

Sure it still kills me to think about it but it’s made me who I am today. Know that it won’t last forever and you’re not alone. Soon it will be a scar you should wear proud knowing you were strong enough to make it through!

In the end we will make mistakes and have new year resolutions which some were made to be broken but we are only human and no one is perfect.

Today I wanted to share with you some of my favourite quotes to get your year started. I hope everyone has an amazing 2016! 🙂
